Douglas F. Cutbush , F.C.I.P., F.I.I.C., F.C.I.Arb., C.Arb.
Douglas Cutbush is an Insurance Consultant, Arbitrator and Mediator who has spent fifty-five years in the insurance industry. Until recently, he worked for The Gerling Global Insurance Group of Canada as Senior Vice-President and Claims Manager for Canada . In 1993 he established Douglas F. Cutbush & Associates Limited to provide insurance-related consulting, arbitration and mediation services.
Mr. Cutbush is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of the United Kingdom , and a Chartered Arbitrator of the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Canada. He is a current member and previous Director of the Canadian Insurance Claims Managers Association. He was also recently appointed a Director of the Lawyers' Professional Indemnity Company. He is a past Director of the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Ontario and was a member of the Insurance Bureau of Canada Claims Committee for ten years.
Mr. Cutbush frequently speaks at seminars and conferences dealing with such subjects as claims management, business interruption, excess liability claims, builders risk policies, coverage disputes, reinsurance claims and arbitration.
He has also been appointed a Roster Mediator for the Ontario Mandatory Mediation Program in Toronto.
Robert James Goodman B.A., LL.B.
Robert (Bob) Goodman, born in Toronto , Ontario on August 3, 1944 , received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Waterloo Lutheran University (now Wilfred Laurier University ) in 1969. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Laws degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Western Ontario in 1969.
After completing the Bar Admission course, he began his legal career in private practice with McLean Lyons & Kerr, now called McLean & Kerr LLP, where he still practices.
Since his call to the Bar in Ontario in 1971, Bob has been involved in thousands of cases as a lawyer, negotiator, and mediator. He is experienced in insurance cases including fire, general liability, and disability claims, as well as in employment, human rights, and family law matters.
Through Matrimonial Mediation Services, a company begun by Bob and his wife in 1989, Bob has been involved in resolving Family Law disputes and related issues involving custody, access, support, division of property and child movement matters.
In 1993, Bob was appointed as a sitting member of the Steering Committee of the Ontario Court Alternative Dispute Resolution pilot project leading to mandatory mediation of cases in the Ontario courts. He is also a member of The Arbitration and Mediation Institute.
In 2003, Bob was appointed as one of the North York Canada Pension Plan Disability Pension Review Tribunal Chairpersons, empowered to adjudicate on appeals of individuals whose claim for CPP disability benefits have been denied.
Richard D. McLean, Q.C. 
Richard McLean is a well-known insurance litigator in the City of Toronto . For many years he has been associated with the firm of Thompson, Tooze , McLean & Elkin and its predecessors. He is recognized for his clear, concise legal arguments on matters of insurance law, personal injury and damages.
He has acted as counsel for many other law firms and has provided advice both legal and practical not only to the profession, but to the insurance industry as well. He has represented insurers and other litigants at every judicial level , including the Supreme Court of Canada. He has represented litigants and resolved disputes relating to property losses, construction defects, product liability and occupiers liability; as well as every conceivable type of personal injury action.
He has always been highly regarded for his sense of fairness and objectivity. He brings all of these talents and abilities to the forum of Alternate Dispute Resolution.
Shelley Timms, LLB. 
Shelley was called to the Ontario Bar in 1986 and has practised litigation, primarily in the insurance/personal injury area. In 2000, she began a dispute resolution and consulting practice focussing on mediation, neutral adjudication, ADR training and liquor liability issues.
Ms. Timms has received a Certificate of Mediation from CDR Associates in Boulder , Colorado ; a Certificate of Negotiation and Mediation through Osgoode Hall Law School and is currently working on her LLM in ADR at Osgoode Hall Law School .
She is active in the Ontario Bar Association and Canadian Bar Association and is currently a member of the governing council of both and a member of their ADR sections. She is also a member of the American Bar Association-ADR section and the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Ontario.
Shelley is a director of the Student Life Education Company, a not-for-profit organization directed to provide education on the use and non-use of alcohol both at the secondary and post-secondary levels of education. She has contributed to numerous continuing legal education and insurance education seminars as both a speaker and author of papers.
Shelley enjoys mediating all kinds of disputes and is happy to travel anywhere in Canada or abroad.
Helen Walt 
Helen graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand ( Johannesburg , South Africa ) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, 1990 and a Bachelor of Laws degree, 1992.
She obtained her Masters of Law degree specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at Osgoode Hall Law School in 1999. As part of her LL.M., she worked at the Ministry of Commercial and Consumer Relations focusing on needs assessment, analysis and design of dispute resolution systems. Ms. Walt has also completed the Intensive Mediation Certificate from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University (1998).
Ms. Walt was appointed Assistant Vice President of the organization that launched the first online dispute resolution company in Canada , mediating insurance settlements between plaintiff counsel and defence counsel/insurance companies.
