Trained as a mediator at the CDR Institute - a world-renowned training center for Dispute Resolution professionals - in Bolder Colorado in 1989, Michael completed advanced training in negotiation and dispute resolution at Harvard University in 1995.

With more than 20 years of experience as a lawyer and resolution professional, he has special expertise in class actions and multi-party resolutions, participating in some of the largest multi-party dispute resolutions in Canada.

Active in justice policy reform, he has been a Fellow of the U.S. National Association of Attorneys General, a well-known author of numerous books and articles on dispute resolution, and an advisor to the Government of Canada on online dispute resolution.
