Dr. Reiner Martens
Dr. Martens is a sought-after arbitrator in the
international sports
community. He is a Member of the Court of
Arbitration for Sport, Lausanne,
Switzerland and, in 2002, participated in the
resolution of 15 disputes before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, often
serving as President of the
Panel. Dr. Martens has been counsel to the
International Basketball
Federation for more than 20 years and was Ad-hoc
arbitrator for the 2000
Olympic Summer Games in Sydney and the 2002 Olympic
Winter Games in Salt Lake
City.
Dr. Martens studied at the Universities of Paris and
Munich and received his Doctor of Laws from the
University of Hamburg. He is a Member of the
International Bar Association, German-American
Lawyers Association, and the American Arbitration
Association. Dr. Martens speaks German, English,
French, Spanish, and Italian.
